His cold voice emerged in the silence.
He had just arrived here. Leaving Farhan and Faizi with Uncle Abbu, he himself had come towards the kitchen. He intended to talk to Hafsa alone. But her voice coming from inside had forced him to stop...
"I asked you something. What were you saying to Hareem? If you have any objection to the marriage, tell me. I will dissuade Uncle Abbu in my own way. You know very well that I do not believe in force."

"کچھ پوچھا ہے آپ سے۔۔ کیا کہ رہی تھیں آپ حریم سے۔۔ آپ کو کوئی اعتراض ہے شادی پر تو بتا دیں مجھے میں تایا ابّو کو اپنے انداز میں منع کر دونگا۔۔ آپ اچھی طرح جانتی ہیں میں زبردستی کا قائل نہیں ہوں "۔۔
حفصہ نے بے بسی سے آنکھیں میچیں۔۔ تو مطلب اس نے صرف اسکی آخری بات سنی تھی اور اسی سے مطلب اخذ کر لیا تھا۔۔ وہ تو بس اسکی موجودگی سے خوفزدہ تھی۔۔ لیکن اب اسکی ناراضگی کا خیال آتے ہی ہاتھ پیر پھول رہے تھے۔۔۔
"نن نہیں پلیز۔۔ میرا وہ مطلب نہیں تھا۔۔
اس نے بھرائی ہوئی آواز میں کہا۔۔۔
"میں نے آپ سے مطلب نہیں پوچھا ہے۔۔ آپ حریم سے یہ کہ رہی تھیں یا نہیں "۔۔
وہ اس وقت اسے کوئی رعایت دینے کے موڈ میں ہرگز نہیں تھا۔۔ ۔
"ریان پلیز میری بات تو سنیں۔۔
اس کے انداز پر وہ بری طرح رو دی تھی۔۔
وہ بھلا کب کسی سے اس لہجے میں بات کرتا تھا۔۔ اس نے تو ہر کسی کے ساتھ اسکو نرم ہی دیکھا تھا۔۔ اس سے بھی کبھی وہ اس حد تک سخت رویہ تو اختیار نہیں کرتا تھا۔۔۔
"اس میں اتنا رونے والی بات نہیں ہے حفصہ آپ خوش نہیں ہیں تو مجھے بتا دیں "۔۔
اس کے اس طرح رونے پر وہ کچھ نرم ہوا تھا۔۔ ہاتھ بڑھا کر اسے کچھ قریب کیا۔۔
"مم میں خوش ہوں نا۔۔ آ آپ تو میری بات ہی نہیں سن رہے صرف ڈانٹے جا رہے ہیں۔۔ میں بس سب اتنی جلدی ہونے پر نروس تھی۔۔ آپ تو مجھے اپنی صفائی میں کچھ کہنے ہی نہیں دے رہے "۔۔
بری طرح روتی ہوئی وہ اسکے ہاتھوں پر سر ٹکا گئی تھی۔۔۔
